Pipa Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 4, 2026
Pipa does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Period.
- No data collection — the app has no analytics,
no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. The privacy
manifest bundled with the app declares no collected data types at all,
and no tracking domains.
- No accounts — there is nothing to sign up for
and nothing to log in to.
- Local storage only — which levels you have solved,
your fewest moves and pushes on each, how many hints you have left,
which chapter introductions you have read, and your sound and haptics
preferences are saved in the app’s own storage on your device,
purely so your progress survives between launches. Deleting the app
deletes them.
- iCloud — if you are signed in to iCloud, that same
small record syncs through your iCloud account, so a level solved
on your iPhone is solved on your iPad. Alongside it goes the kind of
device that last wrote it (“iPhone” or “iPad”,
never its name) and when, so Settings can tell you where your progress
last came from. It is held by Apple in your own private key-value
storage. There is no server of ours anywhere in that path, and no way
for us to read it.
- Game Center is off until you turn it on — and the
app does not contact it before then. Switch it on and your progress
towards twelve achievements — all of them counts of levels solved
— is reported to Apple’s Game Center under your own player
account, so it can appear in your profile. Apple handles that data under
its own privacy policy. Switching it off stops all further reporting.
- Purchases — the full game and the packs of ten
hints are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store. Pipa never sees
your payment details, and a transaction tells us nothing about you.
Whether you own the full game is read back from Apple each time the app
starts. The identifier of each hint pack you buy is kept with your
progress (and so in your iCloud, if you use it) for one reason only:
so a pack is counted once, however many devices it reaches.
- Sound is synthesised, not recorded — every footstep
and barrel you hear is generated on your device as you play. It never
uses the microphone.
- Nothing else is touched — no location, no contacts,
no photos, no camera, no notifications. Pipa asks for no permissions at
all. It does look at whether your device is set to Dark mode, on the
device, only to light the square at night.
Beyond Apple’s own iCloud, Game Center and App Store — all three
acting for you rather than for us — Pipa makes no network connections
whatsoever. Because it collects nothing, there is nothing for us to share,
sell, or lose.
